Hi claudia
the fly works well just left drifting with the wind, or jerking back slow and stopping. Try different ways. Keep intouch Jan

As it was entered as an international sea trout record, scale samples had to be sent so that if could either be verified as a salmon or sea trout.
So it was verified by those that can, as a salmon and not a record breaking sea trout.

I will be traveling to Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Between July15- August20. I live in Minnesota USA. I would really like to fish for several different species of bream. I have a fishing guide service in Minnesota, fishing Bass Largemouth and Smallmouth, Muskies, Northern Pike, and Walleye. I enjoy fishing bream (sunfish) and Crappie with a fly rod.
I would like to learn as much about fish species located near the coast. Any information will be of great help in planning my holiday.
i promise to do just that. i think i am going to save youre flie until its a bit warmer. its not fair to try it out now.
Claudia.

Brian,
I've been contemplating the same customization; apply a set of Aquastealth rubber soles to my old Weinbrenners. Still looking for a place that will sell me a pair of replacement Aquastealth soles so I can try it. That just MIGHT be the ultimate boot!

Hi Brian,
What days would you be in DK, a friend and I will be spending a week at the camping site at Fyns Hoved form the 29th of March til the 5th of April. If you would be interested we could try and hook up for a day or two.

Yea i heard that some argued it was a salmon, though i can't personally tell from the clip. Was it ever proved that it actually was a salmon?

Great photo! The seabass fibe has kicked in. Soon the watertemperature will rise along the Dutch coast and seabass will cruise our waters again after along winter.
Hopefully in April we can start fishing for them, by boat and in the bellyboat.

If the tandemstreamer was to be used for pike, I would opt for a "bite off" free connection between the two hooks. This could be established by attaching a swivel plus connector to the bend of the first hook with fine iron- or copper wire. Ty off in the normal way, use headcement and ready. On top of that it does make one flexibel in tactics, because it enables you to fish a mono streamer of to mount to big streamers in a row. Sometimes big pike love those prey lining up........
Kind regards,
Vassenden
Babic,
superglue becomes stiff, so I am using AquaSeal og other flexible-when-dry-glue. Here I am using a Loon knot glue.

Very nice description of how to tie this classic dry fly. Once you master the simple techniques described, you will love tying this pattern. I tie more of these than almost any other dry fly pattern.

super glue or....?
I fish primarily on the danish coast ant my overall favorite is a good big hairy mudler for nightfishing.....but in the daytime another favorite is "Jorgens Demon"......
Just tied a bunch of "Epoxy Miracles" in green and in brownish - so maybe a new favorite is comin' up :D

Shame it turnt out to be a salmon
Otherwise a very funny clip and an amazing feat considering it was landed on a size 12 double fly and 0.25mm leader! It took 2.5 hours to land.

I always thought that carrying a landing net is a wise peactice when fishing for larger fish. Nice clip,

Dont tie loops into your leader, when creating the different segments let the tag end hang, you only need 3-4" of material. Also, another popular thing to do is drop the nymphs right off the bend of the hook of the previous nymph.

Personally I've used these realistic flies in a variety of conditions and have never had a bite. As soon as I put on a pink sparkle shrimp (basically the same as the glitter shrimp but using dubbed SLF sparkle instead of fritz) I get fish almost straight away.

As with most of my experiences, both for sea trout and trout, it's not what looks good to the fisherman, but what looks good to the fish. It seems, the simpler the fly, the better it is
