The parachute technique is important to know. Parachute flies seem to get strikes when even Catskill style flies do not. This I believe has to do with the way they rest on the water, with the whole body submerged. Maybe it’s easier for the trout to see it? Who knows. All I know is once you learn a parachute, you can tie an imitation of just about any bug out there. Just change up the colors and hook size. Here a size 16 parachute Adams is quite common in many fisheries through the US, and me tying the Adams variety also gives me the ability to discuss my technique on aligning the two different color tail fibers.
